Leisure activities in the DolomitesLively summer holidays

Hiking through natural gorges, across lush alpine meadows, to legendary mountains and panoramic viewpoints, or rock climbing in the Dolomites… there’s the perfect activity for everyone!

In summer, mountain biking or e-biking are great options. We recommend cycling along forest trails to the small mountain lake Völser Weiher, 10 km from our farm, and then taking a refreshing dip. It’s wonderfully invigorating! On the way back, you may stop at one of our charming South Tyrolean taverns to enjoy a traditional dish or visit a typical pizzeria.

Hiking in South Tyrol Cross-country in autumn

The golden hues of the autumn leaves are truly idyllic and make the South Tyrolean landscape even more beautiful. With a bit of luck, you might even spot black and yellow fire salamanders while hiking in South Tyrol and inhale the scent of spruce resin, which not only nourishes the forest but also invigorates body and soul. Although our region isn’t known for rainy weather, boasting over 300 days of sunshine a year, there are plenty of alternative activities to enjoy during your holiday in Tiers and the surrounding area. You may take a trip to Bolzano and stroll through the famous Fruit Market (“Obstmarkt”), immerse yourself in the world of Italian fashion, take a walk along the Talfer River, or visit a museum. Exploring one of South Tyrol’s more than 350 castles is also highly recommended.

Other attractions in our area:
  • Nature Park House with a still functioning saw (Venetian gate)
  • Botanical gardens at Castle Trautmannsdorff
  • Castle Prösels
  • Ötzi Museum as well as the Natural History Museum in Bolzano
  • Reinhold Messner’s „Messner Mountain Museum“
  • A night at the opera in the ancient Arena of Verona
  • Day trips to the most beautiful mountain passes in the Dolomites
